This is just a music experiment, metadata is most likely wrong or not set. It's late, I'm tired, I'm doing a tiny bit every day.

Zarathustra Style, Fabri Fibra, Neffa & Zarathustra

Number of listens: 1, Shine track: Jay-Z

L’album, in generale, mi è piaciuto. Sonoramente proprio bello: belle basi, ottima produzione, bel sound.

Where the Light Is: John Mayer Live In Los Angeles, John Mayer

Number of listens: 2+, Shine track: Slow Dancing in a Burning Room (Live at the Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles, CA - December 2007)

Sometimes you need comfort food, sometimes you need comfort albums.

OK Computer, Radiohead

Number of listens: 1, Shine track: Exit Music (For a Film)

Sometimes I struggle to conceptualise that it’s always Radiohead playing and composing the music for all the albums I’ve listened to. I now see where Muse came from (especially exit music for a film) and even though i’m not a huge muse fan that track is definitely my current favourite. With so many different genres spread out throughout the albums i will definitely have to have more than one listen to better judge the music, but at a first listen I am a huge Radiohead fan.

A Moon Shaped Pool, Radiohead

Number of listens: 1, Shine track: Decks Dark

Decided to listen to the recommendation of a friend and going for A Moon Shaped Pool instead of Ok, Computer as a “next Radiohead album”… and I must say that there couldn’t have been a better recommendation! Loved the album, the atmospheres it painted in my head were incredible and it’s definitely a perfect segue from In Rainbows.

THE MOUSE AND THE MASK (METALFACE EDITION), DANGERDOOM, MF DOOM & Danger Mouse

Number of listens: 1, Shine track: Basket Case

Unfortunately, the baby voices, and the SouthPark-like skits ruined the musical experience for me. I loved the serious tracks, and the OG rap vibes, but it was way too little compared to the rest.

In Rainbows, Radiohead

Number of listens: 1, Shine track: Weird Fishes / Arpeggi

I believe this is my favourite Radiohead album so far. After the live in the basement I had to listen to the studio version. So many melodies I had heard before but I couldn’t exactly pinpoint where too!

In Rainbows - From The Basement, Radiohead

Number of listens: 1, Shine track:

This live session made me want to go straight to the studio album. Incredible live session, amazing songs, I understand why In Rainbows is a fan favourite!

Kid A, Radiohead

Number of listens: 1, Shine track: The National Anthem

Second Radiohead album (thanks Jamie!) and I must say it keeps on giving. This missing musical puzzle piece I had in my head keeps filling and, on a side funny note, it’s funny to finally hear the full song from which the TikTok snippet has been taken.

Non c'è fretta, Nico Arezzo

Number of listens: 2+, Shine track: da dio

Should I say anything about this album? This is an incredible album, you should listen to it.

Non c'è mare, Nico Arezzo

Number of listens: 2+, Shine track: Ti voglio bere

Incredible album, incredible artist, using it as a palate cleanser, the previous listen was harsh. I saw Nico live in summer 2026 and I can confidently say he is almost better live than he is in his studio albums. I am starting to like this album more and more even though “Non c’è fretta” is my true favourite.

Renascent, The Durutti Column

Number of listens: 1, Shine track:

Got this album recommendation from a Mastodon post, and decided to give it a go considering that I never ever heard of the band, and they seem to be active since the 70s. Unfortunately this was not my jam at all, I found it very bland and uninteresting. It was on the edge between experimental and plain without ever committing to one or the other.

Dead Club City, Nothing But Thieves

Number of listens: 2+, Shine track: Welcome to the DCC

Went back to the album that made me discover NBT: now I remember! This album is insane, good tracks everywhere. It’s a shame the latest one is not as memorable!

Stray Dogs, Nothing But Thieves

Number of listens: 1, Shine track: American Confidence

I couldn’t help but notice that NBT released a new album, so I had to jump on it. But, at a first listen, I couldn’t remember why I liked them in the first place? Weird feeling, not a bad album, but nothing noteworthy.

Hrudja, Massimo Silverio

Number of listens: 2+, Shine track: Šchena

Amnesiac, Radiohead

Number of listens: 1, Shine track: I Might Be Wrong

I heard somebody compare Ethan French to Radiohead… so I had to investigate! This is my first introduction to Radiohead and I must say I loved the vibe. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I wasn’t expecting this. I also feel like one of my faourite british bands, Everything Everything, were hugely inspired by them. I finally get it!

ideas of the day - vol. 1, Ethan French

Number of listens: 2+, Shine track: sticks and stones to telephones - day 52

Been listening to the pre-release of this album since when I discovered him, and as soon as the full album was release, I jumped on it. Overall the album is very good, but all the standout tracks were in the preview. I feel like he had to release the full album due to his instant fame, and it was a good move, but some tracks do feel rushed.

Emeralds, Parlor Greens

Number of listens: 1, Shine track:

Suggested by a friend, I must say I didn’t really enjoy this one. I appreciate the musicianship, but that’s about it. Everything feels very beige, no standout tracks, nothing really caught my attention.

Immunity, Jon Hopkins

Number of listens: 2+, Shine track: Sun Harmonics (Remaster 2023)

This is a very weird curveball in my musical catalogue, but I do love this. Haven’t listened to much else from Jon Hopkins, but I have fond memories of this album. It is also an excellent focus album, love it.

Live at Electric Lady - EP, Yebba

Number of listens: 2+, Shine track: Louie Bag (Live at Electric Lady)

Old but gold. In my opinion one of Yebba’s best releases. Incredible musicianship, amazing choice of covers and originals. No notes!

III (Deluxe Edition), Moderat

Number of listens: 1, Shine track: Animal Trails

I listened to this album because it was recommended by Apple Music after “The Hum of Maybe”. Clear sign that recommendation systems fail very often. Not the album I was expecting nor the genre I was necessarily looking for. I would’t say it’s a bad album per se, but deffo not something I would recommend for a coding session. I definitely too sober for the final tracks.

A Hum Of Maybe, Apparat

Number of listens: 2+, Shine track: Hum Of Maybe

I saw apparat live this summer and it was this album that made me want to go back and listen to his music. Definitely a step away from his abstract early days, but still a wonderful album, and even better live!

22 Durnham Dew, Benny Sings

Number of listens: 1, Shine track: Castle

This is the most Benny Sings album ever. Just a good time throughout. Very enjoyable, feel good music with amazing musicianship and groovy vibes.

Memory Bomb, Kiefer

Number of listens: 1, Shine track: I Let My Hair Grow

Definitely not the Kiefer from Be Encouraged. Album that seems to focus more on the collaborations with other artists that on actual piano playing. Can’t say it’s bad, but won’t re-listen probably.

All the Flowers have Bloomed, Kofi Stone

Number of listens: 2, Shine track: -

Excited about Kofi from yesterday I decided to listen to another album of his, his most recent one. Whilst I still appreciated it, it definitely flew under the radar of my attention. I listened to it twice, and twice I reached the end without even noticing. No track that shines, very mellow.

Angel, Lizzy McAlpine

Number of listens: 2, Shine track: The light in the painting

Confirmed my first impression. Start of the album is strong imho, the first song has a huge “calm energy”. I think that from track two onwards it fades into the background.

Intro - EP, Lauryyn

Number of listens: 2+, Shine track: Decidere non so

Nobody Cares 'till Everybody Does, Kofi Stone

Number of listens: 2, Shine track: Busker Flow

Amazing “old school” style rap album. Discovered by watching Slow Horses and then, from the album art, figured out the guy’s from Birmingham. Excellent find.

Distance in Static, Bonobo

Number of listens: 1, Shine track: me and you

Excellent album for work, very consistent. Not my favourite Bonobo album, but still some good ambient electronic music.

ideas of the day - vol. 1, Ethan French

Number of listens: 2+, Shine track: reckless and arranged

Good album preview, shines in the more upbeat tracks but doesn’t disappoint in the slower ballads. Would like to hear something more than just “musical ideas” and potentially a more cohesive full album, but musically speaking this is totally my jam.
